Producing Jesus followers of faith that expand God's Kingdom.
We seek relational reconciliation to God that produces generational change in our community and around the world expanding kingdom influence through the application of the gospel of Christ.
Throughout the Bible it is evident that God is a relational God. He is so relational that when his creation was separated from him through sin He was willing to send his only son Jesus to die that he might remove the sin and restore the relationship with mankind (2 Corinthians 5:17-20) We are created in the image of God and are therefore relational creatures as well. We desire love and friendship more than anything else in the world. The premise for God establishing the church was to have a body of believers that would love him and fellowship with Him (1 John 1:1-3). When people repent and receive the gift of salvation, they are adopted into the family of God (Romans 8:14-17). God's family consists of more than just Him it includes all his children as well. When you come to God you receive all that is God's.
As Jesus observed the religious of his day, He said to them, "You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said: "‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ” (Matthew 15:7-9, emphasis mine). God is more concerned with a genuine relationship that is real and personal. It has become common in churches today to have "worship experiences" that are full of emotionally driven elements that are meant to bring people closer to God. The problem has become that many use these experiences as a false sense of intimacy with God, but have no real life change or relationship with God. An intimate relationship with God will always bring about lasting life change and conformity to the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus spent time with his disciples as their lives were being transformed by the truth of his words. This pattern of effective discipleship has not changed for the past 2000 years.
Reliant Ministries has purposed to maximize godly relationship in the lives of God's people and share those relationships with others that have not yet been reconciled to God. We will create opportunities and environments that will lead to spiritual conversations and observe as God draws people into an intimate relationship with Himself and His Church. We believe that through these relationships many will be reconciled to God.
The end result of this endeavor will be a local church that is self-supporting through the giving of it's members and ministry engaging businesses. Personal evangelism will occur through the discipleship process and lead to growth and transformation into the core values of Reliant Ministries. This multiplication of believers will expand the Kingdom of God and will endure past the founders of this organization.
In 5 years or less there will be a body of believers that are actively mentoring others in their walk with Christ (personal discipleship). These fundamental relationships will come together to form "core gatherings" (small group ministry) that will encourage one another and provoke one another to good works. The core groups will come together for vision, biblical direction, and celebration in the church gatherings once a week.
Here are the questions that every covenant member should be asking themselves:
- Who is behind you? (Everyone should be leading someone through discipleship.)
- Who is beside you? (Everyone should be receiving strength and encouragement from a core group.)
- Who is in front of you? (Everyone should have a clear vision of the new relationships we are building for the kingdom. These will be targeted and defined in the Large Gatherings.)
